Rottler Replacement Diamond and Borazon Honing Stones
Stoneholders for Rottler Diamond Hone Head
Product Description
BOSON diamond and CBN hone stones are suitable for mounting on honing tools of all brands and designs. The extreme hardness of the cutting grain and bond result in excellent cutting efficiency in connection with a long service life.
Our diamond and CBN honing stones (abrasive sticks) are available as standard diamond stick to fit to the steel carrier. Alternatively, we can supply the honing stick ready for fitting as a diamond stick with expansion profile. This minimizes the preparation required in your company. For special requirements we also supply the honing sticks in the following special forms:
BOSON Abrasives supply the following types of honing stones for honing different materials:
Diamond (D) - is a superabrasive material that is the hardest in the world and provides abrasion resistance and uniform grain size and shap, which allows for the consistent cutting and grinding performance of tools. Diamond is suitable for honing nonferrous materials such as metal, cast iron, carbide, glass, cearmics, graphite, aluminum alloys, and bronze etc materials.
Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) - is a superabrasive material with a crystal structure similiar to synthetic diamond, providing superior wear and oxidation resistance to ferrous materials. CBN is used for honing ferrous materials such as hardened steel, bearing steel, nickel-based alloys, and superalloys.
Diamond has become the material of choice for both high volume production engine rebuilders as well as custom engine builders and performance shops. Diamond honing stone cut faster, last up to 50 times longer and leave a much more consistent bore finish than conventional abrasive stones such as silicon carbide and aluminum oxide. A set of diamond honing stones may costs up to 20 ~ 30 times as much as a set of conventional honing stones, but when their much greater longevity is factored in, diamonds cost less in the long run and their consistency is much better.
Diamond honing stones are available for most popular honing heads. But to maximize the benefits of diamond honing, the honing machine must be capable of handling higher loads.
