Single pass honing, also known as single stroke honing, uses an expandable diamond-plated sleeve mounted on a tapered mandrel. The tool passes through the bore only once, removing a predetermined amount of material. Each subsequent tool in the sequence slightly increases the diameter, progressively sizing the bore to the final specification. After the final pass, the bore is straight, round, and finished to the required surface quality-all in one cycle.
Electroplated diamond single pass honing tools offer excellent dimensional accuracy, high material removal rates, short cycle times, and consistent bore geometry. They are ideal for high-volume production environments.
BOSON's honing tools are compatible with Sunnen VSS series single stroke honing machines, as well as other major brands. Each tool is precision-machined to meet tight tolerances and ensure excellent bore geometry.
